Track Prepped for YSU College Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team returns to competition this Friday, Jan. 23, at the YSU College Invitational in Youngstown, Ohio.
The field events begin at 2:30 p.m., while the running events get underway at 3:30 p.m.
Notable schools competing, excluding host Youngstown State, include Dayton, Duquesne, and Pitt.
This is the Mountaineers’ second meet in the last six days after hosting the WVU Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the WVU Shell Building. West Virginia posted nine season-best marks at the meet, including five first-place finishes.
Senior Katlyn Shelar continued her success early in the indoor season, recording a season-best mark in the pole vault for the second straight weekend. Shelar’s vault of 3.96 meters was her best since February of last indoor season.
West Virginia is in the middle of a stretch of eight straight weekends of competition leading up to the Big 12 Indoor Championships from Feb. 27-28.
