A Flower Mound, Texas, native, Anderson led the Mountaineers and the Big 12 for the second-straight week with 4.83 kills per set. She had 11 kills with 12 digs for a double-double in the team’s 3-0 win over Robert Morris, and had a team-best 18 kills and hit a career-high .516 with an ace and a block assist to help WVU down Gardner-Webb 3-0.
Anderson had 12 kills with a block and a block assist in the team’s 3-0 sweep of Niagara, and added in eight digs as well vs. the Purple Eagles. She finished with a team-best 17 kills, hitting .303 in a 3-0 victory over Providence.
Anderson was named the Niagara Invitational MVP, and now leads the Big 12 in both kills per set and points. She totaled 58 kills with 32 digs, 9.0 total blocks and a pair of aces on the week.

The No. 13-ranked Mountaineers continue their eight-match homestand this weekend at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium … WVU plays host to No. 18 Georgetown on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., and Duquesne on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. … the first 200 Mountaineer Maniacs who attend Friday’s match will receive a women’s soccer fan shirt … all fans in attendance on Sunday will be able to meet the team for autographs following the competition.

The Mountaineers (4-2) extended their shutout streak to three with two wins at the WVU 90 Minute Classic over the weekend … the Mountaineers defeated Hofstra, 4-0, on Sept. 5, and UNC Greensboro, 2-0, Sept. 7 … WVU tallied four goals in the first 17 minutes against the Pride, with junior Kailey Utley and sophomore Ashley Lawrence each netting their first scores of the season … sophomore Kadeisha Buchanan and junior Kelsie Maloney also scored, and in total, seven Mountaineers earned at least one point on Friday … junior Leah Emaus put the Mountaineers on the board in the 45th minute against the Spartans on Sunday with her second career score, and first since 2012 … Lawrence added the insurance goal in the 49th minute … junior Hannah Steadman made one save combined in the two shutouts.

The WVU volleyball team will host the Mountaineer Invitational this Friday and Saturday at the WVU Coliseum … the squad will face Kent State at noon on Friday before taking on Seton Hall at 7 p.m. Friday evening … on Saturday, the Mountaineers will take on St. Francis in a noon match before closing out the tournament vs. Montana at 7 p.m.

The Mountaineers went 3-0 to win the Niagara Invitational this past week … they have won six straight matches and 18 straight sets … the team downed Gardner-Webb 3-0 on Friday afternoon, hitting .446 as a team in the win … WVU topped Niagara 3-0 later that evening … Jordan Anderson and Nikki Attea each had 12 kills in the match … the Mountaineers swept Providence 3-0 to close out the weekend … Lamprini Konstantinidou had 44 assists in the match while Anderson led with 17 kills … Anderson, Konstantinidou and Attea earned all-tournament team honors … Anderson was named tournament MVP… she lead the Big 12 in both kills and points this past week.
