Cain Named MAC Player of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Ryan Cain of the WVU men’s soccer team has been named the Mid-American Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for his efforts last week.
In a 4-3 double-overtime loss to James Madison, Cain scored the first two goals of the match in the first seven minutes. He then completed the hat trick in the 57th minute to tie the match at 3-3.
The hat trick was the first by a Mountaineer since Franck Tayou completed the feat against Xavier in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 11, 2010.
West Virginia returns to action at No. 5 New Mexico on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m.
