Mountaineers Remain in Top 10

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After falling to Baylor, 74-71, in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship game Monday, the West Virginia women’s basketball team dropped to No. 7 in the final Associated Press Poll of the season.
The Mountaineers were ranked No. 5 last week, while the Lady Bears were No. 7. This week, Baylor moved up to No. 5, while WVU dropped two places.
With a 29-4 overall record, the Mountaineers have matched the 2010 team for most wins in a single season. WVU awaits its postseason fate, which will be announced in the women’s basketball NCAA Selection Show tonight at 7 p.m., on ESPN.
Fans can tune in to WVUsports.com for a live videostream with Jeff Culhane and Meg Bulger at the Basketball Practice Facility at 6:45 p.m. The show, which is sponsored by MCM Business Systems, will also air live on 100.9 FM in Morgantown and in Charleston on WSCW-AM 1410 and WJYP-AM 1300, starting at 7 p.m.
