BIG 12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Juwan Staten, West Virginia, G, Sr., 6-1, 190, Dayton, Ohio/Dayton
Staten had a game-high 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds in the Mountaineers’ 77-44 win over Wofford. The senior guard recorded his first double-double of the year and the fourth of his career, all of which have been points and rebounds. He also had four assists in 31 minutes of action against the Terriers, his eighth game with four assists or more in 2014-15. Staten leads West Virginia in scoring with 15.9 points per game, a mark that ranks fifth in the Big 12.

Johnathan Motley, Baylor, F, Fr., 6-9, 230, Houston, Texas/North Shore
Motley finished with 19 points, a career-high six blocks and five rebounds in Baylor’s 70-66 win over Southern. The freshman forward connected on 6-of-10 (.600) shots from the field, including one 3-pointer. He also had one assist and one steal in 29 minutes. It was his second straight outing with at least five rejections, as he now has 11 in the past two games after posting just five in the first nine games of the season. Motley also has 57 points in the last three contests after scoring 26 in his previous six outings.
