Buchanan Named to ECAC All-Star Team

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer defender Kadeisha Buchanan was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2014 Division I Women’s Soccer All-Star First Team.
Buchanan, a Brampton, Ontario, native, is one of three sophomores to earn first-team honors.
A two-time NSCAA All-American and a 2014 first-team honoree, Buchanan has collected a slew of season-ending awards, including a spot on the Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy semifinal list. The two-time reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, she also was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Best XI First Team. Additionally, Buchanan was named the Canadian U-20 Player of the Year for the second straight season.
Buchanan helped the Mountaineer defense post 12 shutouts, two short of the program single-season record. WVU did not allow a goal on the road in Big 12 play. Buchanan posted a career-high eight points (3 G, 2 A) this season; her goals and assists totals also were career highs.
