Mountaineers Tied for No. 22 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s basketball is tied for No. 22 in the Associated Press’ Top 25 poll released on Monday.
The Mountaineers (2-1) went 1-1 last week, picking up an 89-87 win over Seton Hall. WVU fell to now-ranked No. 25 Mississippi State, 74-61, in Starkville on Thursday evening in the semifinal round of the Preseason WNIT.
WVU earned 105 votes, tying for No. 22 with Syracuse and Georgia. There were three other Big 12 programs represented in the Top 25: No. 6 Texas, No. 13 Baylor and No. 20 Oklahoma State.
West Virginia resumes action on Wednesday, Nov. 26, versus Evansville at 7 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.
