WSoc No. 6 in NCAA RPI

The Mountaineers’ (13-2-2, 6-0-1) position is their highest of the season. The squad moved into the top 10 last week with its No. 8 RPI.
Stanford (14-1-2) is No. 1, followed by defending NCAA champion UCLA (15-0-2) at No. 2 and Penn State (16-2) at No. 3. Texas A&M (14-2-2) ranks No. 4, and North Carolina (11-2-2) is No. 5.
As a conference, the Big 12 ranks No. 3 behind the Southeastern and the Pac-12 Conferences.
For the second straight week, the Mountaineers rank No. 8 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Division I Women’s Top 25 Poll. There was no change in the poll’s top 10, and UCLA continues to hold the top spot, with Florida State (15-1-1) and Virginia (16-1) following at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Additionally, WVU is up one spot to No. 11 in this week’s BennettRank Rankings.
The Mountaineers secured their third straight Big 12 regular-season crown and pushed their unbeaten streak to 14 with a pair of conference wins this weekend at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. WVU came from behind and toppled Oklahoma State, 2-1, in double-overtime on Oct. 24, and defeated Oklahoma, 3-1, on Oct. 26.
Junior forward Kailey Utley (3 G) and redshirt-freshman Amandine Pierre-Louis (2 G) combined for 10 points on the weekend. Utley scored the golden goal against OSU in the 103rd minute, while Pierre-Louis added two second-half scores against OU, including the game-winner in the 75th minute.
WVU closes out its regular-season slate against Baylor on Friday, Oct. 31, at DDSS, at 7 p.m. It is “Senior Night,” and forward Kate Schwindel, defender Jess Crowder, midfielder Ali Connelly and goalkeeper Katie Osterman will be honored before first kick. Fans will be admitted for free, courtesy of United Bank. Youth fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and attend Trunk or Treat in the Coliseum band parking lot starting at 5:30 p.m.
