Rifle Continues to Rank No. 3

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team is ranked No. 3 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll for the fourth straight week.
The Mountaineers (6-0, 4-0 GARC) closed out their fall season with a 4678-4627 victory at Navy on Nov. 16; that score is the basis for the team’s ranking.
Alaska-Fairbanks ranks No. 1, while Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) foe Kentucky slides back to No. 2 after three weeks at the top.
Jacksonville State is tied with WVU at No. 3, while Nebraska is No. 5. TCU is slotted at No. 6, Air Force follows at No. 7 and Ohio State ranks No. 8. Army and Navy round out the top 10.
The Mountaineers open their spring season on Jan. 19 and will welcome NC State to the WVU Rifle Range for a shoulder-to-shoulder match, scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
