Two Earn All-Region Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Eric Schoenle and Uwem Etuk of the West Virginia University men’s soccer team were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) All-Great Lakes Region teams this week.
Schoenle was named to the first team for the second-consecutive year, while Etuk earned third team honors.
Schoenle played in 17 games last season, leading the Mountaineers with six goals, including two game-winners. He completed his four-year career with 75 games played, 14 goals, five assists, 33 points and seven game-winning goals.
Etuk earned all-region honors for the first time in his career after starting all 17 contests in 2012, recording two goals with a team-leading six assists. Etuk played in 75 career games with eight goals, 18 assists and 34 points, including three game-winning goals.
The WVU men’s soccer team completed 2012 with a 9-6-2 record, including a 4-2-1 in Mid-American Conference play. Thirteen different Mountaineers scored at least one goal, the most in school history.
