Gerun to Miss First Six Games

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University sophomore Volodymyr Gerun will not participate in the first six regular season games of the 2012-13 basketball season, the school announced today.
The NCAA determined that prior to his enrollment at WVU, Gerun played three games on a professional team in Ukraine during the 2011 season which is contrary to NCAA regulations governing amateurism.
A 6-foot-10 forward from Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, Gerun led Ukraine in scoring (18.2), rebounding (11.1) and blocks (2.1) at the 2011 under-18 European Championships.
