LUBBOCK, Texas - West Virginia battles Texas Tech today in a Big 12 Conference game that will be televised on ABC (Sean McDonough, Chris Spielman and Quint Kessenich) to 53 percent of the nation.
The fifth-ranked Mountaineers bring a 5-0 record into Lubbock, while the Red Raiders are currently 4-1 following a 41-20 loss to Oklahoma last Saturday.
Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville is now 17-13 in three seasons with Tech and is 127-73 overall in 17 seasons as a college coach.
West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen is currently 15-3 after leading the Mountaineers to a 10-3 record and a victory over Clemson in last year’s Orange Bowl.
Kickoff for today’s game is set for 3:30 p.m.

6 – SIX Mountaineers players have earned first-time starts this year: Tyler Anderson, Isaiah Bruce, Cody Clay, Karl Joseph, Shaq Rowell and Jordan Thompson.
5 – The Mountaineers have scored at least 21 points in a quarter FIVE times this year, including twice against Baylor and Marshall and once against James Madison.
4 – West Virginia’s defense has allowed only FOUR runs of 20 yards or longer and is limiting its opponents to just 2.9 yards per rush.
3 – West Virginia’s Tavon Austin ranks THIRD in all-purpose yardage in school history with 5,417 yards and is now second in touchdown catches with 25.
2 – West Virginia has TWO runners that have managed at least 200 yards rushing in a game during their careers. Last week, sophomore Andrew Buie ran for a career-high 207 yards in the Mountaineers’ 48-45 win at Texas while sophomore Dustin Garrison ran for a career-high 291 yards against Bowling Green as a freshman last season.
