Men's Basketball: Noreen Granted Extra Year

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The BIG EAST conference has approved a hardship waiver request for West Virginia University men’s basketball player Kevin Noreen.
Noreen, a 6-foot-10 center, underwent surgery on his right knee to heal a ruptured prepatellar bursa on Jan. 12. The freshman from Minneapolis appeared in seven games this season, averaging 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. He had a season-high seven points and five rebounds in 14 minutes of action against VMI.
Noreen will have four seasons of eligibility remaining with the Mountaineers.
