MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball coach Jill Kramer has announced the third addition to the 2011 roster, Courtney Robison, who signed a grant-in-aid with the Mountaineers.
Robison (Shepherdsville, Ky.) joins West Virginia as a 5-foot-11 setter from Assumption High and club Asics KiVA.
"Courtney Robison is a great addition to our freshman class,” Kramer says. “She has been a leader on championship teams at Assumption High and with KiVA Volleyball Club.
“Assumption and KiVA have very strong volleyball traditions and we are looking forward to Courtney helping us build a strong tradition in West Virginia volleyball. Her court sense and knowledge of the game are exceptional, which will help her to become a great coach, as she plans to pursue a degree in our athletic coaching education program at WVU. We can't wait for her to get here and get started."
A honor student and member of the varsity squad for three seasons, Robison was named first team all-state and all-district after leading her team to the 2010 Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) State Championship team.
Robison aided her club team to AAU National Titles in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010 and was named an AAU All-American in 2005, 2008 and in 2010.
She was also named as AAU Most Valuable Player in 2006 and 2007.
Robison joins Evyn McCoy (Clare, Ill, Sycamore High) and Halle Kearney (Middleburg, Ohio/ Magnificat High) in the 2011 incoming class.
