Men's Basketball: WVU 25th in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Despite suffering a 55-54 loss at Louisville last Wednesday night, West Virginia made a return to the AP Top 25 this week at No. 25.
Following the Louisville loss, the Mountaineers improved to 14-6 with a 66-55 victory at Cincinnati on Saturday night. West Virginia got 16 points each from seniors John Flowers and Joe Mazzulla during Saturday’s 11-point road victory over the Bearcats.
West Virginia, which has earned Top 25 votes in both polls for most of the year, previously made an appearance in the Jan. 17 AP poll at No. 21.
The Mountaineers are one of eight Big East teams in this week’s AP poll. Pitt dropped two spots to No. 4 and is followed by Connecticut at No. 6, Notre Dame at No. 9, Villanova at No. 12, Georgetown at No. 13, Louisville at No. 15 and Syracuse at No. 17.
West Virginia takes on Seton Hall (10-12, 4-6) Wednesday night at the WVU Coliseum in a 7 p.m. Big East games. For tickets you can log onto WVUGAME.com.
