MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia opens the 2010 football season Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium against FCS opponent Coastal Carolina from the Big South Conference.
The Big East Network (John Sanders and Rene Nadeau) will televise the game locally; Saturday’s telecast will also air nationally on ESPN3.com (formerly ESPN360.com).
Fans can listen to MSN’s radio coverage (Tony Caridi, Dwight Wallace, Jed Drenning and Hoppy Kercheval) on Sirius channel 121 and XM 141 with the Best of Sirius package. Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 3:30 p.m.

10 – Seventeen returning players have started at least TEN career games for West Virginia entering the 2010 season opener against Coastal Carolina. Leading the way is senior Scooter Berry with 28 career starts.
9 – In 2009 West Virginia posted at least NINE victories for the fifth consecutive year, representing one of only seven schools in college football to do that.

8 – West Virginia brings an EIGHT-game home winning streak into Saturday’s season opener against Coastal Carolina. That is the eighth-longest home winning streak in school history.
7 – Running back Noel Devine has produced SEVEN runs of 70 yards or longer, including a career-best 92-yard touchdown run against Syracuse during his sophomore season in 2008.
6 – West Virginia’s SIX-year record of 59-17 is ninth best in college football. Texas is No. 1 over the last six years with a 69-9 record.
5 – FIVE of West Virginia’s nine victories in 2009 came by double-digit margins. Overall, WVU had a 10.5 point margin of victory in its nine wins last year.
4 – Receiver Jock Sanders’ 72 catches last year as a junior were the FOURTH most in school history. Sanders is currently fifth all-time at WVU in receptions with 137 and enters Saturday’s game against Coastal Carolina with a streak of 28 consecutive games of catching at least one pass.
3 – This year marks the THIRD consecutive year West Virginia has opened at home with an FBS opponent. In 2008 it was Villanova and last year the Mountaineers opened the 2009 season with Liberty.
2 – West Virginia coach Bill Stewart has the SECOND-most wins through his first 27 games in school history with a 19-8 mark, trailing just Clarence Spears, who posted a 20-4-3 record through his first 27 games from 1921-23.
1 – Devine has produced at least ONE rushing touchdown in 11 of his last 14 games.
