BATON ROUGE, La. - Twenty second ranked West Virginia faces No. 15 LSU in a battle of ranked teams Saturday night at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. Tonight’s game is the first meeting between the two schools.
LSU owns a 3-0 record with wins over North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State while West Virginia’s 3-0 start includes wins over Coastal Carolina, Marshall and Maryland. Tonight’s game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 (Ron Franklin, Ed Cunningham and Jeannine Edwards) and will kickoff at approximately 9 p.m. ET. MSN’s coverage (Tony Caridi, Dwight Wallace, Jed Drenning and Hoppy Kercheval) begins with The Mountaineers Today at 8 p.m. Sirius Satellite Radio users can access MSN’s coverage on channel 113.
Westwood One Radio (Brad Sharn and Eddie George) will also cover the game nationwide.

8 – West Virginia is tied with Georgia for the 11th-most wins over the last EIGHT years with 70. LSU is sixth with 76 wins.

3 – Quarterback Geno Smith has thrown for more than 200 yards in all THREE games this year. Eleven of West Virginia’s 29 200-yard passing performances since 2001 have come since 2008.
