MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia opens the 2010 football campaign on Saturday, Sept. 4 against Coastal Carolina of the Big South Conference in a game to be televised locally on the Big East Network and nationally on ESPN3.com, formerly ESPN360.com.
John Sanders and Rene Nadeau will handle the call with the telecast airing locally on WCHS (Charleston), WOAY (Oak Hill), WVFX (Clarksburg), WTOV (Northern Panhandle), WTAP (Parkersburg), WJAL (Eastern Panhandle) and WPCW (Pittsburgh).
MSN’s radio coverage (Tony Caridi, Dwight Wallace, Jed Drenning and Hoppy Kercheval) begins with the pregame show at 1:30 p.m. and can be heard on stations throughout West Virginia, as well as nationally on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 121 and XM 141 (Best of Sirius) and on the Internet through Mountaineer.TV (signup and login required).
West Virginia brings an eight-game home winning streak into this year’s opener (the Mountaineers are 13-1 under Coach Bill Stewart in games played at Milan Puskar Stadium) against the Chanticleers. Saturday’s matchup will mark the first time these schools have played and it is the 13th time WVU has played a team from the Big South Conference. Last year, West Virginia opened the 2009 campaign with a 33-20 victory over Liberty.
Tickets still remain for Saturday’s game and can be purchased by calling the Mountaineer Ticket Office toll-free at 1-800-WVU GAME or by going online to WVUGAME.com.
