Women's Tennis: Team Honored by ITA

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University tennis team has been honored as a 2010 all-academic team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for its overall academic performance in the 2009-2010 season, while five team members were named ITA Scholar Athletes.
WVU has received this honor for the second year in a row. This title is awarded to Division I teams with an overall team grade point average of a 3.2 or higher.
Former seniors Gabriela Blaskovicova, Monique Burton and Stephanie LaFortune, along with junior Ashley Pilsbury and freshman Emily Mathis, were named ITA Scholar Athletes for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or better during the 2009-2010 school year.
LaFortune and rising junior Veronica Cardenas were awarded by the ITA with the same title in 2009.
