Men's Soccer: WVU Heads to Michigan

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men’s soccer team will play its first exhibition on Saturday, Aug. 21, in Ann Arbor, Mich., against Michigan of the Big Ten. The match will be held at the U-M Soccer Stadium and will start at 1 p.m.
WVU returns 16 letterwinners, including midfielder Ray Gaddis, who is on the watch list for the Hermann Trophy and goalkeeper Zach Johnson, a candidate for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. Coach Marlon LeBlanc enters his fifth season with the Mountaineers.
Michigan coach Steve Burns is entering his 11th year with the Wolverines and returns 18 letterwinners, including senior forward Justin Meram, who finished last season with seven goals and six assists.
The Mountaineers will return home for the final exhibition on Wednesday, Aug. 25, against Robert Morris.
The regular season opens up with the Save Face WVU Classic presented by Jerseys Subs with the Mountaineers taking on No. 9 Monmouth on Sept. 3 and No. 17 UNC Wilmington on Sept. 5.
