Women's Basketball: WVU No. 7 in Coaches' Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s women’s basketball team (24-3, 11-2) moved up one spot to No. 7 in the latest ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll, released today, receiving 580 points. WVU was ranked No. 8 in the Associated Press poll yesterday
WVU is one of five BIG EAST teams ranked in this week’s Coaches’ Poll Top 25 as it joins No. 1 Connecticut, No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 11 Georgetown and No. 19 St. John’s in the rankings.
The Mountaineers are fresh off a 54-45 victory at USF this past Saturday and have won four straight contests. WVU is now one victory away from matching the school record for regular season wins set by the 1991-92 team with 25.
West Virginia returns to action this evening, Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. when it takes on Cincinnati (11-14, 4-9) at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati. The game will be broadcast on MSN affiliated radio stations with play-by-play announcer Travis Jones on the call.
