Women's Basketball: WVU Moves Up to No. 9

Morgantown, W.Va. – The West Virginia women’s basketball team has moved up to No. 9 in the Associated Press poll released today.
After spending three-straight weeks at the No. 10 position, the Mountaineers (8-0) are at the No. 9 position for the second time in the history of the program. WVU reached No. 7 in the poll last season, its highest ever ranking.
The Mountaineers will take on Villanova at The Pavilion Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. The game marks the opening of BIG EAST competition for both teams.
