MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – For the second-consecutive season, defender Raymon Gaddis of the West Virginia men’s soccer team was named a first-team selection to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Performance Subaru all-Northeast Region team.
“Ray is the best right back in America and he is only getting better,” coach Marlon LeBlanc said. “I am very proud of his achievements and I am looking forward to even greater success in the future.”
Gaddis, an Indianapolis, Ind., native, is the first Mountaineer to earn first team status multiple times. He started 21 games, playing every minute on the back line this season and was a critical part to the defense’s success. Gaddis also contributed offensively with five assists, while taking five shots.
West Virginia finished the season 11-8-2 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Mountaineers return 10 regular starters and 18 letterwinners in 2011. All of the team’s 34 goals in 2010 return and WVU only lose seven of its 116 points.
