Women's Basketball: Repella Named to Honor Roll

Morgantown, W.Va. – Senior guard Liz Repella was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll today after guiding the Mountaineers to an undefeated 6-0 record and the 2010 Paradise Jam Island Division Championship title last week.
Repella was named the Paradise Jam Island Division MVP in addition to being named to the all-star team. The Mountaineers were successful in beating a pair of ranked opponents in No. 21 TCU and No. 17 Iowa State.
Repella averaged 14.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game in addition to grabbing 10 steals, dishing out six assists and blocking three shots. Of the three games last week, Repella was the scoring leader in two games and had a double-double in the opening game against TCU.
The guard now leads the Mountaineers in scoring and rebounding as she averages 14.7 points per game (No. 10 in the BIG EAST) and 7.0 rebounds per game (No. 13 in the BIG EAST) this season.
The West Virginia women’s basketball team will spend its second straight week at No. 10 in the Associated Press poll and will face a pair of non-conference opponents this week. The Mountaineers play host to Elon at 7 p.m., Thursday, before facing High Point at 6 p.m., Saturday, in the WVU Coliseum. Both games will be broadcast live on www.MSNsportsNet.com.
