MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Former Mountaineer wide receiver Chris Henry’s lasting legacy will be featured in a CBS Sports broadcast focused on the LifeShare of the Carolinas Medical Center on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 25, during “NFL Today.” The segment is expected to air between noon and 12:30 p.m.
The story recalls the fatal accident that took the life of Henry in Charlotte last November, the difficult discussion his mother, Carolyn Glaspy of Cincinnati, had to make regarding the donation of his organs and the renewed life the four organ recipients received.
Henry, a 2004 first team all-BIG EAST honoree, is tied with Darius Reynaud for WVU’s single-season touchdown reception record (12). He is also second in WVU career touchdown receptions (22) and eighth in career yardage (1,878).
Drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft, Henry had 19 receptions in 2008, his last full season in the league, for 220 yards and two touchdowns.
