Men's Soccer: WVU Set for First Round Game

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia men’s soccer team will begin its trek toward the BIG EAST Championship with a first round game against South Florida on Wednesday, Nov. 3. The match will begin at 7 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
WVU finished the regular season with a record of 9-6-2 and are led by sophomore Shadow Sebele who has four goals and seven assists. Junior Franck Tayou and sophomore Peabo Doue each have six and five goals, respectively.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 1-0 loss to Providence to close out the regular season last Saturday.
USF is led by coach George Kiefer who is in his ninth season. USF is led by Bernardo Anor who has give goals and three assists. Goalkeeper Jeff Attinella has played in all 17 games with a 0.72 goals against-average and ten shutouts.
The teams last played on Oct. 16 in Tampa, Fla., with the Bulls coming away with a 1-0 victory. Andre Mittoo scored the matches lone goal after splitting two defenders in the 67 minute of play and putting it past WVU senior keeper Zach Johnson.
The winner of the match will travel to Louisville, Ky., to take on Louisville on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for youth and senior citizens. USF and West Virginia students are admitted free with a valid student ID. Groups of ten or more are also admitted at a price of $2 per ticket.
