MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's swimming teams take to the road Thursday for the last competition of the fall season, as they head to Chapel Hill, N.C., for competition at the UNC Nike Cup from Nov. 18-20. The three-day meet will take place at the Koury Natatorium.
“It’s always important to swim in a prelim/final meet so that we have the opportunity to race in the BIG EAST and NCAA championships format,” coach Vic Riggs said. “We look forward to this meet so we can gauge where we are at as a team and what we need to improve upon before the BIG EAST Championships.”
The prelims will start 10 a.m. each day, with the finals taking place at 6 p.m.
West Virginia and North Carolina will be joined by Navy, Old Dominion, Duke, East Carolina, James Madison and Syracuse.
The Mountaineers were last in action last Saturday when the women defeated Rutgers, 148-146, in Morgantown. The men’s squad last swam against Cincinnati on Nov. 6, earning a 195-101 victory.
