MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia will play its final regular season non-conference opponent today when the Mountaineers take on UNLV of the Mountain West Conference.
The Rebels bring a 1-4 record into Milan Puskar Stadium under first-year coach Bobby Hauck, whose overall record of 81-21 includes a highly successful tenure at I-AA Montana. Three of UNLV’s four losses this season have come against nationally ranked teams – Wisconsin, Utah and Nevada. The Rebels traveled to Morgantown on Thursday to get better acclimated to the time zone change.
The Big East Network (John Sanders and Renee Nadeau) will televise the game to markets throughout West Virginia. The game can also be seen in New York (SNY-NY), northern Florida (Brighthouse), Baltimore (MASN), Hartford, Conn. (SNY-CT) , Kansas City (Metro-KC), Las Vegas (KVVU), Providence, R.I. (Cox-NE) and nationally on ESPN3.com.
There are less than 500 tickets remaining for the game and tickets left can be purchased through the Mountaineer Ticket Office by calling toll-free 1-800-WVU GAME or by going online to WVUGAME.com. Any remaining tickets can also be purchased at the stadium today.
Prior to today’s game, the WVU Sports Hall of Fame will induct its 20th class inside the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility at 1 p.m. This year’s class of inductees includes Eddie Barrett (sports information director), Marc Bulger (football), Bobby Carroll (men’s basketball), Bill Karr (football, baseball and boxing), Ann-Marie (Pfiffner) Johnson (rifle), John Radosevich (baseball) and Ronnie Retton (men’s basketball and baseball).
Bulger has been named honorary captain and will take part in the coin toss at the start the game. MSNsportsNET.com will have highlights of today’s Hall of Fame induction ceremonies later this afternoon.
