Volleyball: Mountaineers Set for Villanova

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team is set to return to BIG EAST action with a match at Villanova on Sunday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m., in Philadelphia.
The Mountaineers enter the match with a 14-9 (4-3 BIG EAST) record despite falling to Duquesne in a 3-1 match on Tuesday.
Junior Kylie Armbruster has led WVU in its last two matches, with two straight double-double showings. In the Mountaineers’ 3-2 defeat over Pitt last weekend, the Murrieta, Calif., native posted 13 kills and 14 digs. She then returned to post 15 kills and 10 digs against the Dukes.
Villanova is 17-4 (5-1 BIG EAST) on the season after defeating Fordham 3-0 on Tuesday night.
Sophomore Morgan Petkovich posted 13 kills and hit .355 in the win after being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. Petkovich currently leads the Wildcats in kills this season with 247.
WVU is 7-12 against Villanova in the all-time series. Last season, the Mountaineers defeated the Wildcats in a 3-1 match in Morgantown.
