Baseball: Gold-Blue World Series Pushed Back

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Due to rain last week, the West Virginia University baseball team has pushed back its 21st annual Gold-Blue World Series. The series will now open on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m., at Hawley Field. Games two and three will be held on Monday and Tuesday, and will also start at 5 p.m.
The series was originally scheduled to begin on Saturday, Oct. 16.
Redshirt-seniors Colin Durborow and Grant Buckner have been elected as team captains for the series and will draft team members on Thursday, Oct. 14, following an afternoon intra-squad game. Durborow and Buckner are enjoying strong fall practice season and boast .453 and .427 batting averages, respectively.
