Women's Soccer: Promotional Days Announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – With the season opener against Ohio State rapidly approaching, West Virginia officials are planning several promotional days this fall for the Mountaineer women’s soccer team.
West Virginia’s match with the Buckeyes is “Poster Night.” Fans attending the home opener on Aug. 23, at 6 p.m., can pick up a free 2009 WVU women’s soccer poster featuring Mallory Beck, Kerri Butler, Erica Henderson and Nicole Mailloux.
Three matches have been designated as “Dollar Days” with all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas available for purchase for just one dollar. The following games are scheduled for “Dollar Days” – Sept. 20 vs. Tennessee, 1 p.m.; Oct. 2 vs. Notre Dame, 6 p.m.; Oct. 9 vs. Syracuse, 5 p.m.
Members of the WVU Parents Club will receive a coupon for discounted admission into the Oct. 4 match vs. DePaul – as part of the 2009 Fall Family Weekend.
The Oct. 2 match against the Fighting Irish is also High School Night. Interested high school teams should download and complete this form HERE.
Sunday, Oct. 11 is Breast Cancer Awareness Day when the Mountaineers take on BIG EAST foe St. John’s at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as the WVU coaching staff makes a check presentation to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. The Mountaineer soccer program will also honor its four seniors following the match as part of “Senior Day” festivities.
The Mountaineers return five starters this season as they begin defense of their BIG EAST American Division title. Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown begins her 14th season in charge of the Mountaineers and has led her teams to nine straight NCAA tournament appearances.
