Baseball: WVU to Open Against Connecticut

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The third-seeded West Virginia University baseball team is set to play No. 6 seed Connecticut on Tuesday, May 19, at 5 p.m. at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

The Mountaineers (36-16, 17-10) will play the Huskies (33-23, 14-13) for the first time in a BIG EAST Tournament game. WVU is slated to be the designated home team because of garnering a better seed in the conference.

WVU swept UConn in Storrs, Conn., in its first conference series of the season. The Mountaineers won by scores of 7-6, 12-2 and 7-4, and own a 23-18 all-time record against the Huskies.
