Women's Basketball: WVU Closes Regular Season

SOUTH BEND, IND. -- West Virginia University's women's basketball team closes regular season BIG EAST action at Notre Dame, today, at 3:30 p.m. at the Joyce Center.
West Virginia (16-12, 5-10) has already assured itself the No. 11 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST championship and will play at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 5, against an opponent yet to be named at the XL Center.
Notre Dame (20-7, 9-6) leads the all-time series with the Mountaineers by a 15-2 count. WVU won last year's meeting 56-50 in Morgantown and is looking for its first-ever win at the Joyce Center.
Sophomore Liz Repella and senior Takisha Granberry pace the Mountaineer attack, averaging 16.1 points and 15.9 a game, respectively. The Mountaineers are coming off a 69-68 victory over Syracuse this past Saturday.
Senior guard Lindsay Schrader and junior guard Ashley Barlow pace the Irish attack, averaging 12.9 and 12.7 points per contest, respectively.
