Men's Basketball: WVU Now 6th in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men’s basketball team moved up one spot to sixth in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 poll, released this morning.
It is the highest ranking in the AP poll since for the Mountaineers Feb. 23, 1982 when WVU also reached sixth. The last time West Virginia cracked the AP Top 5 was Nov. 1, 1962.
West Virginia remained seventh in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll - the highest ranking ever for the Mountaineers in that poll. WVU (5-0) returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 9, when it plays host to Duquesne at the WVU Coliseum in a game that will tip at 7 p.m.

West Virginia defeated Charleston 81-48 in an exhibition game at the Coliseum last Saturday night.
