Rifle: Kulbacki Secures Second-Straight Title

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Michael Kulbacki shot 696.7 and won his second-straight men's 10m air rifle junior division title yesterday at the 2009 USA Shooting Airgun Championship at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The DuBois, Pa., native shot 595 in the qualifying match, four shots better than his first-day total, and 101.7 in the final match for his overall score. Additionally, he shot 102.3 in the open men's final to finish second overall with a 697.3 total.
Junior Andy Lamson finished second in the junior division with a final score of 691.5 His qualifying score of 589 was good for 16th place overall.
Also for the second-straight day, junior Nicco Campriani secured the top visitor score, shooting 599 in the qualifying match, 102 in the final, for a combined score of 701. Senior Bryant Wallizer shot 590 and finished in 12th place, one shot and two places better than his first-day result.
Additionally, junior Tommy Santelli shot 586 and finished in 24th place. The Prosperity, Pa. native improved upon his first day score by 11 shots.
The three-day championship is set to conclude today.
