Trent Ridgley enters his first season as WVU’s volunteer assistant coach.
Ridgley serves as the bullpen and outfielders coach. His in-game responsibilities include helping warm up the Mountaineer pitching staff, while he assists with recruiting efforts away from the field.
The Massillon, Ohio, resident was a four-year letterwinner as a pitcher for WVU from 2004-07. He recently helped his brother, Spike, coach the Canton Terriers of the Tri-State League in the summer of 2008.
Ridgley earned a bachelor’s degree in business management in May 2007. He is pursuing a career as a math teacher at the high school or secondary education level.
Ridgley is married to the former Kathleen Stolle, who is a WVU graduate from Lincoln University, Pa.
