Our heart-felt thanks to Ms. Miller for being such a devoted Mountaineer fan!
I have been informed via email that West Virginia’s biggest fan in Maryland is Virginia Miller, who celebrated her 101st birthday last March and doesn’t miss Mountaineer football games on television. Ms. Miller was born and raised in Wheeling where she was a junior high school music teacher. Recently, Ms. Miller moved to Maryland to be closer to her family.
Her last WVU game in person was in 2007 when her grandson took her to see West Virginia whip Maryland. Ms. Miller had a great time at the game and talked about the Mountaineer performance for months.
