MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team travels to Princeton, N.J., on Saturday, Sept. 13, to take part in the Old Nassau Run, hosted by Princeton University. The women will run a 6k race at West Windsor Fields, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Leading the way for the Mountaineers this weekend will be Ahna Lewis, Stephanie Caruso and Karly Hamric. Along with WVU and Princeton, La Salle and Penn will also race on Sat. The course is the same venue the Mountaineers will see at the NCAA Regionals on Nov. 15.
"I am looking forward to getting a chance to race a full 6,000m on the site that will host the NCAA Regionals,” comments Head Coach Sean Cleary. “This will be our first time racing at Princeton in Cross Country. We will be back at Princeton in November and feel this will be a great learning experience for us.”
The Mountaineers are coming off a successful outing at the annual Gold-Blue race which was held last Saturday. Runners Marie-Louise Asselin, Lewis and Kaylyn Christopher all broke the course record in the intrasquad meet.
