Liza Marianni will begin her first season as the diving coach for the Mountaineers after completing a successful four-year career as a diver for Connecticut.
While competing at Connecticut, Marianni was named the Huskies’ Outstanding Diver in 2008 and 2009 and won the Outstanding Senior Athlete award in 2009. She also holds the pool and school records on the 3-meter dive.
Marianni placed second at the 2007 and 2009 BIG EAST Championships on the 3-meter board and was a four-year BIG EAST Championships qualifier.
Prior to a successful career at Connecticut, Marianni was a member of the U.S. Junior National Diving team, Spinner Diving, for 11 years under the direction of Larry May.
Marianni graduated from Connecticut in May 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in allied health along with a minor in psychology. At WVU, she will be pursuing a master’s degree in public health.
The Cherry Hill, N.J. native, currently resides in Morgantown.
