Volleyball: Mountaineers Fall to Kent State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team (0-3) fell in its third game of the Colgate Classic to Kent State on Saturday, Aug. 30, in Hamilton, N.Y.
The Golden Flashes (2-1) defeated the Mountaineers 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 22-18).
Leading the Mountaineers was junior outside hitter Kristina Gallahan who posted 13 kills with a .321 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Lisa Hough followed with nine kills and freshman Kylie Armbruster continued her success with six.
Junior setter Nicole Jones led the Mountaineers in assists with 26, while freshman libero Bonnie West recorded 10 digs.
The Mountaineers continue play next weekend when they travel to Rock Hill, S.C., for a tournament at Winthrop. The first game will be on Friday, Sept. 5, when the Mountaineers face tournament host Winthrop at 7 p.m.
