Women’s Soccer: Mailloux Invited Back to Camp

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer player Nicole Mailloux will attend the Canadian Under-20 (U-20) Women’s National Team training camp April 26-May 4.
The nine-day event will consist of training and games in Lafayette and Indianapolis, Ind. Team Canada will play games against FC Indiana of the USL W-League, the U-20 Mexican National Team and the full Nigerian National Team.
Mailloux, a former Canadian U-17 and U-18 National Team member, is one of 24 players invited to participate in upcoming U-20 Women’s World Cup (Nov. 20-Dec. 7) preparations. To qualify for the Women’s World Cup in Chile, Canada will need to finish amongst the top three teams in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Puebla, Mexico from June 17-28.
The training camp is the second this year for Mailloux. The defender was also invited to camp Jan. 27-Feb. 3 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Mailloux, a sophomore, has appeared in 17 matches for West Virginia the past two seasons. The Mississauga, Ontario, native has provided depth as a defender for a Mountaineer defense that has recorded 27 shutouts over the past two years.
