Men’s Soccer: WVU Travels to IUPUI

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia men’s soccer team will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., to face IUPUI in a spring match Saturday, April 19. The match will be held at Warren Central High and kickoff is set for noon.
Last time out, the Mountaineers fell to American, 1-0, on April 10, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium in their last home match of the spring season.
WVU welcomes back fall standouts forward Paul Paradise, midfielder Gift Maworere and goalkeeper Zach Johnson. The Mountaineers lost a stellar senior class with the graduation of Pat Carroll, Dan Stratford and Andy Wright, who all went on to play professionally.
The Mountaineers finished the 2007 season with a 14-6-2 record, advanced to the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST tournament and reached the NCAA Sweet 16. The Mountaineers were ranked No. 13 in the final NSCAA/adidas Poll.
WVU will conclude its spring schedule on April 26, when the Mountaineers take on in-state foe Marshall in Charleston, W.Va.
