Track: Rotilio Wins 200 Meters at RMU

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track & field team had members compete at the Sea Ray Relays hosted by Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., and the Bennie Benson Invitational hosted by Robert Morris in Pittsburgh this weekend.
April Rotilio won the 200-meter dash at Robert Morris. Rotilio finished in 24.95. Kelly Fortune won the 100 meters in 12.5 seconds, while Katie Burda claimed the title in the 5,000m.
Alexandra Acker led WVU in the field events as she took the top spot in the pole vault clearing 12 feet.
At Tennessee, Karly Hamric won her section of the 800 meters and finished 11th overall with a time of 2:13.94. Halimah Bashir placed 16th in the 400-meter hurdles at a time of 1:04.15. Kaylyn Christopher placed 21st in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:39.38.
“We had some tough weather down at Tennessee, but the results were pretty good,” Head Coach Sean Cleary said. “We’re looking forward to coming back home this weekend.”
WVU plays host to the WVU Invitational next weekend on April 19, its only home outdoor meet of the season.
