Baseball: Parks Earns BIG EAST Weekly Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Junior Justin Parks has been named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll as announced by the league office. Parks had 17 hits with 10 RBIs and scored 11 runs as the Mountaineers went 4-2 this past week.
Parks had four hits against both Coppin State and Rutgers in game one, and recorded seven RBIs against Morehead State in a doubleheader. He also hit a home run against MSU.
West Virginia (20-6, 4-2 BIG EAST) went 4-2 on the week, defeating Coppin State 26-3, and Morehead State 10-5,16-6 in doubleheader play. The Mountaineers dropped its first two at Rutgers 4-8, 2-8 but defeated the Scarlet Knights 8-7 in ten innings in game three.
WVU recorded a season-high 27 hits, 23 RBIs, 26 runs and four home runs against Coppin State on Monday, March 24.
It is the fifth consecutive week that WVU has had a player recognized by the league.
The Mountaineers will play host to Maryland-Eastern Shore in doubleheader action on Tuesday, April 1. Game one will begin at 1 p.m. at Hawley Field.
