Meet Results
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University track team had a strong showing as the Mountaineers held the State Farm Games, today, at the WVU Shell Building.
West Virginia’s April Rotilio captured first place in both the 60-meter dash (7.66) and the 200-meter dash (25.03) while teammates Keri Bland (5:03.44) and Maria Dalzot (5:14.40) took first and second in the one mile run.
WVU took first place in both the 500-meter and 3000-meter run when Karly Hamric took the 500-meter dash at 1:17.43 and teammate Clara Grandt took the 3000-meter run at 9:48.63, respectively.
The Mountaineer relay teams topped the field in the 4x400-meter relay when team A finished first at 4:05.97 (Hohn, Williams, DeStefano and Carrier) while team B finished second at 4:11.42 (Mitchell, Mongold, Hamric and Fortune).
Natasha Redman recorded a first place finish in the high jump (1.67m), before Kristen Loughry took the pole vault event at 3.73m. Alexandra Acker (3.50m) and Maggie Smith (3.40m) also turned in solid pole vaults.
“We had a great meet at home today”, comments Head Coach Sean Cleary. “We had several BIG EAST qualifying times and ECAC qualifying times as well. We need to keep the momentum going with the BIG EAST Championships coming up in a few weeks.”
Chelsea Carrier posted her new best time in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.60. Carrier, Grandt, Loughry and Rotilio all post ECAC qualifying marks.
WVU returns to action at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Feb. 8-9, in Blacksburg, Va.
