A trip to the Levine Children’s Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center was a part of the Monday itinerary for the West Virginia football team.
The Mountaineers departed Morgantown Monday morning for the short flight down to Charlotte, where the team arrived in time for a buffet style dinner and a team meeting. Coach Bill Stewart and senior players Pat White, Ryan Stanchek, Mortty Ivy and Pat McAfee made an early evening trip to Children’s Hospital before joining the rest of the team at an official welcome reception at the Uptown Epicentre. North Carolina players, coaches and administrators were also on hand.
West Virginia begins on-site game preparation on Tuesday afternoon following a team outing at Lowes’ Motor Speedway.
The thermometer barely reached 30 degrees on Monday but the long term weather forecast calls for gradual warming with the temperature reaching the mid-60s on game day.
Be sure to stop back for the remainder of the week for daily videos and stories from Charlotte.
