Volleyball: Connecticut Defeats the Mountaineers

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team was defeated by Connecticut 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-17, 25-10), this afternoon at the WVU Coliseum.
The Huskies move to 16-7, 5-3 BIG EAST, while the Mountaineers fall to 6-16, 0-9 BIG EAST.
Junior outside hitter Abby Raines led the Mountaineers with 10 kills and seven digs, while freshman outside hitter Kylie Armbruster followed with eight kills, 11 digs and two service aces.
Freshman setter Kari Post recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 22 assists and 13 digs.
The Huskies were led by freshman setter Annie Luhrsen, who posted 43 assists, six digs and five service aces.
The Mountaineers continue action with a 7 p.m. match on Friday, Oct. 31, against St. Francis, Pa., followed by a 2 p.m. BIG EAST match at Rutgers on Sunday, Nov. 2.
