MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding play in the 48-7 win over East Carolina this past Saturday.
Offensive Champion – Pat White and Owen Schmitt; Defensive Champion – Mortty Ivy; Special Teams Champion – Vaughn Rivers; Offensive Scout Champion – Darrel Phillips; Defensive Scout Champion – Najae Goode; Special Teams Scout Champion – Derek Knight; Hammer Award – Wes Lyons.
The Mountaineers, 4-0 and No. 5 in the AP and USA Today/Coaches Poll, travel to Tampa, Fla., on Friday, Sept. 28, to face USF, 3-0 and No. 18 in the AP and USA Today Coaches Poll, in a nationally televised ESPN2 contest at Raymond James Stadium (65,000) at 8 p.m.
