Women's Soccer: Kallman Tabbed By Soccer Buzz

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer player Krystle Kallman was named to Soccer Buzz’s elite team of the week on Tuesday.

Kallman, a Woodbury, Minn., native was outstanding last week at center back in two home wins for West Virginia. On Friday, Kallman and the defense limited Rhode Island to eight shots for the game. On Sunday, the junior defender shut-down all-Big Ten forward Aubrey Aden-Buie of Penn State. The Mountaineers held PSU to just two shots on goal in a 1-0 shutout.

She is the first Mountaineer to receive Soccer Buzz team of the week honors since defender Natalie Cocchi and forward Deana Everrett garnered accolades on Sept. 12 of last season.

The Mountaineers, ranked No. 14 by Soccer Buzz, resume play on Friday with a match against third-ranked Texas A&M in State College, Pa., on Friday, at 5 p.m.
