WVU Athletics 35th in Director's Cup

MORGANTOWN, W.Va (Thursday, May 3) – West Virginia University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics stands in 35th place in the 2006-07 U.S. Sports Academy Director’s Cup after the final winter standings, which were released April 26.
WVU has accumulated 366.83 points, the second-most of any BIG EAST school. Notre Dame leads all BIG EAST schools with 546 points in 14th position. Louisville is in 36th with 366.25 points and Rutgers is in 37th with 354.33 points. Stanford leads all schools with 997.5 points.
The U.S. Sports Academy Director’s Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. The United States Sports Academy, based in Daphne, Ala., is the program’s sponsor. Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in up to 20 sports - 10 women’s and 10 men’s.
